About this blog

Who writes the Hachi Garage blog, how posts are made and checked, how we use AI, and how to report a mistake.

Who is behind this

I'm Michael Javier. I make Hachi Garage, a free car maintenance tracker, and I drive a 1997 BMW E39 540i called Hachi. I'm a car enthusiast, not a professional mechanic: I learn and build by myself, with help from a shop and friends along the way. This blog is where I write down what I learn about keeping cars and motorcycles running, in plain English. You can see Hachi on Instagram, TikTok and YouTube.

How posts are made

Posts are drafted with the help of AI, then read, edited and approved by me before they go live. Facts come from the sources listed at the bottom of each post: owner's manuals, manufacturers, and U.S. government sites such as NHTSA and the Department of Energy. Posts about Hachi carry a note from the owner's own experience. I do not copy text or photos from other sites. Every picture is the owner's own, public-domain, properly licensed, or clearly labelled as an illustration, and the credit is shown under it.

What we do not do

I do not give medical or legal advice, and I do not promise that a repair is safe. Anything involving brakes, jacks, fuel or tires comes with a safety note, and your owner's manual always wins over a blog post. If you are not sure, ask a qualified mechanic. I am still learning too.

Mistakes and corrections

If a post is wrong, tell us on Instagram @hachi540i. I will fix it, change the "updated" date and say what changed at the bottom of the post.

Our app

Some posts mention Hachi Garage, my free maintenance tracker, because I make it. The posts are written to be useful whether or not you ever use it. One car is free, with no card needed.
